Former Liverpool ace Stephen Warnock has said that Angel Gomes and Tahith Chong are two players, who could make the step up from the Manchester United reserve side. The Red Devils have been fond of promoting young graduates into the first-team over the years with Marcus Rashford being the most-recent one, who has earned plenty of plaudits.
Both players have already made their bow for United’s first-team but they are yet to earn sufficient gametime to make the difference. The same may remain the case for the rest of the season where United are vying for the top four in the Premier League, but the duo could be offered the chance to impress during pre-season ahead of next term.
Elsewhere, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been talked up regularly for the permanent head coach role after reviving the club’s Premier League campaign on an interim basis after Jose Mourinho’s sacking in December. United were 11 points behind the top-four positions when Mourinho was sacked at the helm, but that gap has been reduced to just two after a strong league run. The Mancunian outfit have suffered just one league defeat at Arsenal under the temporary charge of Ole. The game was the first occasion where United failed to score a goal on the road.
