It’s been a little over 1 year since Stephen Warnock has joined Derby County and the veteran player is a consistent starter for the English club.
Warnock has recently talked about his experience and how it has been like to join the Championship League club as he said that Derby County has rebuilt his career.
“I had a difficult time at Villa when Gerard Houllier came in. I thought I was playing well at the time but all of a sudden I was left out of the squad and things took a bit of a slump.
“Sometimes you get ¬scapegoated as a troublemaker, or something like that, but I thought it was harsh. Nobody ever gave me an explanation or a reason for it and that was the toughest part. Every time I went in to try and ask about it, he didn’t want to have the conversation’’
Stephen Warnock is happy being a player of Derby County especially after having undergone a not very satisfactory time with his former club Aston Villa where he had to spend some time on the sidelines sitting as a substitute player.
At the age of 34, Stephen Warnock is reaching a point in time when its time to start considering what to do after hanging up his boots as retirement is looming closer and closer.
Earlier in January Stephen Warnock released on twitter a statement in which the Englishman stated that he is not planning on retiring anytime soon as Warnock still has plans of performing for a few more years.
It’s very likely that Warnock will not be moving away from Derby County as he is a consistent starter and seems to be happy in the English club and it’s the place where his career has been kick started back to life.
